Description

Phase 42 awards have been determined for qualifying jurisdictions (counties and cities) and State Set-Aside (SSA) Committees across the country.  Larimer County has been funded $128,527.  Please see notice below:



EFSP Funds Available:

 Larimer County has been awarded $128,527 in federal funds through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program (EFSP) for Phase 42. A Local Board comprised of community representatives is responsible for recommending agencies to receive these funds to a National Board consisting of representatives from the American Red Cross; Catholic Charities, USA; National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA; The Jewish Federation of North America; The Salvation Army; and United Way World Wide. Funds are to help supplement and expand the capacity of food, shelter, and utility assistance programs to support individuals and families across Larimer County who are experiencing economic emergencies.

 

Local agencies must: 1) be private voluntary nonprofits or units of government, 2) be eligible to receive Federal funds, 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice nondiscrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 6) if they are a private voluntary organization, they must have a voluntary board. Qualifying agencies may apply via United Way of Larimer County's grant website. Applications will open on 2/1/2025 and must be received by 2/28/2025 at 11:59 PM. The purpose of the funding is to supplement existing programs that provide emergency food and shelter within the following specific categories:

-Served Meals: Hot or cold prepared meals, which are served or delivered to clients/customers.

-Other Food: Food vouchers for grocery orders, food boxes, or food purchased by food banks.

-Mass Shelter: Provides shelter within own facility.

-Other Shelter: Provides shelter outside of own facility (motel, SRO, another shelter, etc.).

-Supplies and Equipment: Essential supplies and equipment purchased for use in a mass feeding or sheltering facility not exceeding $300 per item.

-Rehabilitation (Emergency Repairs/Building Code): Expenditures for building code repairs or accessibility improvements of a mass shelter or mass feeding facility. 

Maximum expenditure is $2,500. Must have a documented code violation and National Board pre-approval to receive.

-Rent/Mortgage: Provide clients with rent/mortgage assistance.-Utilities: Provide clients with utility assistance.
